Gents,
does any one have a photo of the color used on the drive shafts, where there different colors for different models? my car is a sedan / special and would like to re paint as it was original.

Sorry don't know the original colour. I did my wagon in a satin black.

I would have thought they would all have been the same colour seeing as all models are mechanically identical ???

Pretty sure they were flouro green on auto's and flouro pink for the manuals, specials and standards were the same.......

im going to be of no help here
but all the tailshafts ive had were oil and sand/dirt and dust over a smooth black coating
being a kiwi myself all i can say is the shafts are a bit longer than the aussie shafts
and better balanced ,last a lot longer if they were assembeld in NZ
my great uncle Jim used to paint them at petone/hutt valley way back when
and my dad smuggled a few engines out of trentham with his backhoe when they were doing earth works at the &*#@ plant
made a nice bit of coin on the side lol,used to meet men at the wharfs ,back filling wellington with a few donks in the dirt
grey or black ,or a blackish grey
most likely black
