Ive been getting Betsy ready for the trip to Renmark.
She had a moment on a run on Saturday where she started to jerk ( About 50 MPH) then backfiring a lot. A real lot. I kept going as I wasn't far from home and she seemed to come right.
But since then cruising about 45 mph she seems to have a miss. Under load she seems fine but just cruising along its very obvious.
I have replaced plugs, leads, put a carby kit through her, she has no points (electronic module) . I have replaced the cap.
It idles perfectly. Its got me stumped.
Any ideas ?

Not all chemicals are bad. Without chemicals such as hydrogen and
oxygen, for example, there would be no way to make water, a vital
ingredient in beer

Re: Cant get the EK running right :(
I had real trouble with a red 6 when I replaced the spark plugs, I had an electronic dizzy and set the plug gaps at 20 thou. After months of playing up and checking everything but the plugs I found out I should have had them set at 60 thou!
It was the magic cure.
The reason I mention this is it sounds exactly the same as the way your car is running, worth a try I spose.

I had a similar issue many rears ago with a grey. It blew the muffler apart at the seem.
It ended up being water in the fuel. May be check the fuel bowl for any sign of water.
Cheers
