Attn wagon owners... stainless mould clips

Post by parisian62 »

Hi everyone,

Trying to replace the clips to suit the stainless moulding that runs above the rear side cargo window for a wagon? These are available at Rares...they are actually moulding clip side moulds for a HR...

Part code: 7430602

Good find Stewart - saves a lot of grief...

One thing you may consider when you come to mount them, be careful with what you choose to screw them in with (if indeed, they are screwed....) - I have heard that iron and stainless do not make a good marriage - it is the iron which will become the anode.......

I used stainless self tappers when I made my clips - and sealed them out with butyl-mastic.

For the door/panel clips - I used hexagon shaped nylon retainers - purchased from Bill Thompson's ..... I screwed them in with stainless tappers and sealed the fit both sides of the tappers with butyl-mastic.

Sorry for stealing your thread....

frats,

Hi Rosco,

Thanks for those tips. I've read some of your other posts espousing butyl-mastic and was definitely going down that path.

Stewart, I have emailed it to you.

It was in a Word document and easier to send that way.

Stewart I think this was the area I was looking in.
I never ordered any, so not sure which ones were for what.
