Few months on and the Triumph America is still holding my interest, have laid back the rego plate and shortened up the rear indicators. Scored some shorter Speedmaster mirrors and seat. Upgraded the shocks to Ikons and spent hours tinkering with the carbs and I think it's running the best its ever ran.

After not riding for 15 years i decided to get onta a bike again .
Flew to queensland and rode this back in a day.
Great reintroduction to riding that got me to know the bike aswell .
Bought from a little 60 yo lady...it was becoming to heavy she says.

Mcik I've had all those toys all my life. I have no idea what I can get to satisfy my mid life issues.
I'm no good in bed anymore so no point playing up.
Supercars don't do it for me and I can't afford a spitfire. I think I'll take up gardening.

VTX1300, can't kill them with a stick mate, and sounds like you've found their weak point and sorted it out. The steering head bearings wear quickly from new, I looked at these and had a couple of test rides before I brought my Triumph. In the end the Triumph won out for me as I had one in the 70's so I guess my decision was based on nostalgia.
