When you're faced with an unpleasant task that you really don't want to do, sometimes you just have to dig deep down inside and somehow find the patience to wait for someone else to do it for you.

It took a fair while and im sure might right leg is larger now but eventually she fired up. I took it for a run but the brakes arent working property so ill have to go through it all.
Ive had my 68 genny shovel for almost 25 years. Its a police special and is all stock except for the colour. I also have all the police gear for it except the radio and the siren.

Re: Other bikes of interest ?
Whilst looking around his shed I spotted this old racer.
He bought it out the bush from a deceased estate.
It started out as a royal enfield 250.
There are heaps of home mechanic mods.
The guy wanted to rebuild it back to stock.
I ended up buying it off him to stop that from happening.
Im just going to get it running and leave it alone. Its fantastic.

Re: Other bikes of interest ?
Whilst there i spotted this old bike up in some pallet racking.
Today I went to pick up my repaired parts and did a deal on the bike.
Its a malvern star flying wedge from the 70s.
Its still in original paint and looks like it has never been apart.
The tyres look original also.
Ive never seen one with a rear disc brake.
Its also a five speed.
I never had one of these when I was a kid. My parents got me this stupid thing with a removable rail that turned it into a girls bike.
I did end up getting the first quicksilver bmx backdoor before they were realeased.
I knew a guy that worked there. He knocked off a bare frame that I built up and raced.
Incidentally the old guy that repaired the stuff used to run a repco headed grey at the speedway and claimed to be the first person to put a 221 falcon crank into a red motor.
He had a lot of cool stuff in the shed and was definitely set up to make anything his heart desired.

Re: Other bikes of interest ?
I pulled my bike out of the shed last week as part of a clean-up, my sons wanted to find some room in the shed for their junk/stuff.
The bike hadn't been on my mind since I last started it about 4 or 5 years ago when I last replaced the engine oil. It hasn't been registered since we were in QLD in about 1997/8
A few hours and $200.00 later I had a new battery, replaced the fuel line and a carburetor to manifold gasket. I hit the starter ans the old girl fired up first kick.
Before my sons could ask, I had a pair of boots on and my old helmet in my hands. A few laps around the block and she pured like a kitten. I haven't even washed it yet...
The clock reads 14 730km from new in 93, I'm the original owner.. Now she's booked in for an inspection next Friday.....
and to think I used to laugh at my dad forgetting things
