Well today we went for a drive to Brisvagis and found this cute little pet in the street. I said to Carol,
isn't she cute, can we keep her.
So, this is it, the newest member of the family.
I know I did say, "last car, no more" after doing the FB, and Carol also saying "no more",
but when I saw the price and I mentioned long term, and, that I would do her gardens
before I started on it, she crumbled

Seems as how the yellow car didn't quite turn out the way it was intended (daily driver, shopping car,
work car ect)we decided to have another go and try to get it right this time.
We got this car for $850, the body is average to good condition and the damage is just about all bolt on stuff.
Upon closer inspection it will probably need outer sills, rear floorpans and the front sill corners rebuilt.
I think I was a bit spoilt with the FB as the body on it was in great condition. This one came with the
old side plate motor and hydro box, but neither will be getting used.
Plans for this one is oldschoolish:
Stockish body EK, standard colour, standard wheels (thumb print wheel trims) white walls,
cruiser skirts and stockish interior with bench seat.
The only request from Carol is for it to have FB side moulds (so it can be two tone)
air/con unit
I said, "that will be great, we have an FB that looks like an EK and now you want an EK to look like an FB".
Try and figure that out. (must be a female thing)
Other things will include central locking, security system and maybe full length front door windows.
Engine:
Mild 186, 12 port head, something different as far a carby configuration goes and a 5 speed Celica box.
Suspension:
HR front end (disc) rear end Volvo maybe (disc) and low.
Complete strip, sandblast and rebuild over a few years this time. As now we have a car to take to the
next nationals.
Will keep updating with photos on progress with this one as I did with the FB, but maybe I will go into a bit
more detail on things like the chassis kit fabrication as far a measurements and angles go,
so it may make it easier for others to do rather than spending big dollars on bought items.
Anyway let the fun begin again, o yeh, after a bit of gardening.
Cheers
