EK Wagon project - Total rebuild

Post by Finny »

Well, this is the starting point for the EK Wagon. Yes it has FB doors but the rest is an EK.

Will add more photos once the project starts to get under way.

Not too bad as a starting point, but still a long way to go until finished.

Welcome to the Forum Finny,

Looks like a good starting point. The rear overriders look to be in schmick condition...no rust...a good sign as they can be hard to get hold of. What are your plans for it?

Welcome Finny good to see we got another across the border. How are doing it up? Good to see another in Brisvegas.
Austmod- Those wheels look to be ZJ ZK Fairlane to me. Maybe they have been redrilled. 8) 8)

The wheels have been redrilled, don't know if they are legal. Have a mate who runs a tyre shop, will get him to check.

Initial plan is to get her back on the road, new paint job, semi original.

After that, looking to add some new mags, lower her a couple of inches, redo the interior and something unique for the sides and back, like the 57 chevy style.

Long term, would love to drop a V8 into her, and a nice twin exhaust. That will need to wait for a while.

Hey DeadSled (Nick) I live on the Northside at Burpengary, however work at Acacia Ridge. Yes a little hike, but always a fun trip, NOT !

Look forward to going on some runs, but wouldn't be until after May. Although I could be a little optimistic with that time frame. I assume that I won't hit any major issues with getting her back on the road. However Murphy's Law always seems to kick in.

Karsten, I can relate to the costs, I'm sure that they will add up for mine also.

I bought a 69 VF valiant regal, some months ago, and my wife was the opposite. She didn't like it. "Looks like a big american car". Yup shes right, that's why I liked it.

Anyhow, we drove past an EH holden car club meeting, and she said "Why didn't you get an old holden. My family and you used to own them, I like them better". So here I am starting over again.

Still have the valiant, one of my sons wants it, and is desperate for me to keep it. He hasn't got an money, just wants the car.

Need to get the EK looking hotter than the Valiant.
