Wow.... cheers for the interest!
Ok.... here goes for past present and future plans......
Bought the shell off ratbox about 3 years ago with the original plans of painting it matt black and driving it around as a ratter but im sure you all know the story very well...... it got out of hand....
Bodywork: shaved front and back, shaved boot lock with solenoid, shaved petrol filler which i moved into the boot, shaved door handles with remote solenoids, tail fin extensions.. i got rid of the "Special" and the the 3 thingoes before it on the front guard but i chose to leave the factory stainless trim to break it up a bit cause ive never been a big fan of it being removed...
Running Gear: Chrysler Hemi........nah, kidding. I dont know too much about the specs of the engine cause it came out of another EK which i acquired. The guy did tell me it was a 186 bored to 192, had a "big cam" and a bit of valve work.... I drove it once in the other EK and it sounded fantastic.. Aussie 4 speed behind it with 3ft shifter, not sure if you can make it out in the pics, will post another photo..
As for future plans, i am pretty much at a point now where i am putting it all back together, so on the home stretch i guess, but i thought that a year and a half ago.... I have a pair of cruizin skirts not shown in the photo to be fitted which look gnarly cause you cant see the back wheels at all really.. All chrome has been redone, the grill will be 11 shiny rechromed overriders. For the wheels, i am probably going to leave them gloss black with whitewalls with a big bullet in the middle, or i have a set of Starburst hubcaps which look nice...
My crown jewel will be the original 1940's Thermador "Swamp Cooler" air cooler hanging from the back window which i will try and get a pic of..
As for interior, i have been visualising a white vinyl tuck n roll... I have a camper seat up front which should come up a treat.. Purple satin headlining with a narrow mirrow running down the centre of the roof.. I have a white pearlcraft wheel to bolt on which looks cool.. and a myriad of other bits and pieces...
Now the airbags..... If only i could do this myself... the guy that did it was awesome, ratbox actually put me onto him.. he works from home and when i called him about it, he actually told me he doesnt do it anymore but told me he would come check it out and because it was a cool car he decided to do it... he said he was just getting sick of minitrucks...
He was amazing though, he was so meticulous in making sure it was all right, like it was his own car...
I will give a brief rundown here and you can shoot with any more specific questions you may have... Now i have to explain he lived about 45 mintue drive from me so i only got to check it out every couple of weeks so there was a lot that i didnt see happen..
1. All suspension components were removed to get it sitting as low as it could and then the idea was to build it up with the bags etc..
2. For the front, the suspension bells had to be cut out and a new mounting plate welded in for the bags to fit. He said the lower control arms took a week in themselves to weld new bases in etc..
3. The rear involved recessing the whole diff and suspension a few inches into the car and C-notching the chassis rails...
4. A new tunnel was needed..
5. All compressors, valves and tanks were located in the boot, tank sits on top of new sheetmetal in picture...
6. And this is how the interior now looks with finished sheetmetal..
Ride height with full air:
And a picture of my knob.........
Hope you all enjoy... shit i have to get to work!

Should have also mentioned the 5mm plate that now runs the entire width of the front crossmember for support so the thing is rock solid.... And all shock absorbers had to be re mounted..
I will post some pics of my other EK now i have this image posting sorted..
She is my daily driver and i have had it for 10years this November..
Hope you like...!
And Malcolm, Yes indeed some gunsights would be awesome.. I have been looking at the story of your build, very cool stuff.... I think your proportions are fantastic...
And Element5au, the amount of times i have bruised my thigh/hips from walking into those fins i cannot remember...
