I don't know if you are joshing me Stephen. I should take my trailer tyres more seriously rather than using up the worst of what I have on there. The trailer was only overloaded by around 500kg. Would have being doing 80kmh and it just made a bang and tilted over a bit. I wouldn't have tried it with the ute. I'll swop these on to the 6x4, strip the other rim and hang on to the cross-ply for novelty factor.Image

When you're faced with an unpleasant task that you really don't want to do, sometimes you just have to dig deep down inside and somehow find the patience to wait for someone else to do it for you.

Last minute tuning for the trip to Echuca. Speedo was reading fast. Swapped the white 20 tooth cog for a pink 19 tooth. Oops reading even faster. Mate Rich had a green 21 tooth. Picked up from him today on site and installed this arvo. Speedo now spot on.

Discovered while underneath the damn tappet cover is leaking again, so gave it a twitch up.Image

As Elle insisted on naming it, we finally settled on Larry after Perkins the commy racer, amoung other cars, who hails from the same patch of iron rich sandy loam as the car, and which I found considerable of during restoration, Cowangie (Cowanjee). Also, Larry has developed a somewhat larrikin character, so Larrykin it is.Image
Had to stop and take a shot on the way to Echuca, and receivd the inspiration then.

Trip to Echuca was a good opportunity to check out fuel consumption. I ran 98 all the way there and 91 home. Total travelled 950 miles by the speedo which I'm finally confident in the accuracy of. Consumption was 11.5 litres/100km or 24.6 mpg both identical. Will be giving 91 a run see how it runs around town.

Might try these on.Image
Can test economy on the drive to Bunbury for next year's Nats.

Not sure the middle of a desert is the place to be checking fuel economy, sure you'll have it worked out by then. :smile22: By the way that's what mines getting, on the highway, don't ask around town
