When you're faced with an unpleasant task that you really don't want to do, sometimes you just have to dig deep down inside and somehow find the patience to wait for someone else to do it for you.

Hey Wal your ute is looking great and that tank is pretty cool.

For such and good product I agree with you that it is a little weird that they didn't put a crimp in the top hopefully it is stable enough and doesn't flex a lot

Hey Neil - It's pretty solid construction so anything on top wont worry it I'm sure - it has a baffle through the middle so is a result of that welding but I'll check with the producer to see whats the go - once it has some gas in it and pressurised may be no issue

I've had one of those tanks in the wagon for a while. It has survived numerous test drives, about 800km of being towed on a car trailer, had crap stored on it... no dramas with bowing. The only drama I had was that the top of the fuel sender got surface rust (not sure if mine was originally cad plated... its been a while). Cosmetic issue only.

I ended up running stainless lines off the tank, all the way to the carb - never have to worry about rust in the fuel system if I end up accidently getting a load of E10 (or E85  ).

Cheers,
Harv
