Hi Greg;
Have a look on page 4, I'm using a standard Commodore radiator I don't really want to have a custom radiator that leaves me stuffed if something happens to it plus I can get standard size aluminium ones if I want, plus I'm 100% sure that standard radiators will flow the correct amount.
My FC sedan has a custom one and I knocked it a little while ago and it now has a small leak so I have no option than to get it fixed which puts the car off the road for a little while and at the worst it may have to be re-cored at a time when I'm trying save a bit to finish the ute.

Your welcome anytime mate let me know and we could throw something on the BBQ maybe.
I picked up somthing interesting the other day (see below) unfortunately it is going on the FC for now, the guy that did the polishing and painting said he can do the same for the manifiold and rocker covers on my ute engine pity I don't have a twin throttle body manifold for the ute, YET
Polished and painted inlet manifold
Polished rocker covers (the early ones were metal later plastic)
Serpentine belt tensioner
Polished and painted thermostat outlet neck and coil pack bracket.

Thanks once again to EK Mart I have been able to finish the large repair to my ute tray floor (I still owe you Blacky )
Still a few small areas and a couple of holes in the firewall that I want to weld up and then should almost be ready to go to panel and paint fingers crossed. Also put in the 2 seat belt plates while I was there.
And my wife gave me a new sign for man land for Christmas

Fantastic Christmas present. The patina and rust makes it perfect. You did very well Neil.
I very interested in how you will connect the steering column to the rear mounted rack.
I'm building an EK ute for my wife using a VL column with shortened RodTech commodore rack.The angle seems very steep for the uni joints.
What Intermediate shaft are you using ?

There is a right way and a wrong way and then there is my way which is usually the long way.

Hi Clay yes she is a keeper took me a couple of attempts at it but finally found one I could keep

In my FC I used D bar and universals that I purchased from VPW I had to use 3 universals and a live eye (I think that is what it was called)
For my Ute, at the moment I still have the VT universals and intermediate shaft but I don't think it is going to be long enough I also have a couple of torana universals and intermediate shaft that I know will fit, I'm about to turn the car into a roller soon so it can go to the panel and paint guy so when I do that I will sort it out, if neither of them work I will go back to VPW.
You are right about the angle being tight but you need to make sure you steering column basically stops at the firewall and you may need to open up or dish around the firewall/steering column it is a bit hard for me to explain and I'm not sure if somebody else has shown it on this forum but Pete Mallaby on the fe FC forum has with his Ute build.
Hope I haven't confused you I have put a photo of where my column ends at the firewall.

Finished the last of the big rust repair sections that I'm going to do there are still a couple of small ones that I will tackle and then should be right to go to.
I'm going to seal all the seems and then spray a sound deadener underneath before it comes off of the rotis.

I know that the rear setup has been used a lot so we know it works.
As I'm on holidays I will have a chat the Rod at RodTech.
I keep setting a deadline for the ute but life gets in the way. Hopefully I can get some time in the shed and make some progress.
