Mate, All this talk about the windscreen is great, but i was just thinking...what's the go with the rear glass. I don,t think you can buy new laminated rear glass off the shelf and you cant cut the old toughened glass.

ok mick
this is the way i did it
the centre section is a front laminated hg monaro screen
this has the same curve top to bottom
left to right
i made a template and went searching cars till i found a perfect match
you can cut the centre section from this screen
the corner glass i made moulds in metal to suit exact a genuine corner glass
curved in bth directions
i then made 2 corner glass replicars in 5mm perspex
you can do this yourself you just need ya wifes oven (dont overheat them)
so now you have a perfect replicar of an origanal glass
you can now cut this perpex piece with a jigsaw untill you get the perfect fit
now you trace this on to the template made of steel
give both these pieces to a glass person that does curved glass i have a guy over here
you should be able to find someone there im sure
iv done this before so from the goodness of my heart  i will happily post you the metal templates so you dont have to go to the extreem that i did making them yourself
they need to withstand 280 degrees of heat
ring me mate im happy to help out a fellow ek ute forum member

Hey Paul, I really appreciate your invaluable advice and generosity. Seems there is more muckin around with the rear glass than the screen. The tip about the HG screen is a ripper.I will do a bit more homework on this and give you a buzz if I need to take you up on your offer of the templates. I reckon the screen could be cut easier with a lazer or waterjet. I have made some preliminary enquiries and looks like waterjet could be the go.

ImageImageImageImageImageImageThought I would post some pics of the custom fabricated Watts link getting fitted. I reckon that should hold it all together up back, and the way Heath has done it will look trick too.

i have a ute with fairly good outer body but absolutely no floors, i was getting very close to cutting it up or basically just getting rid of it then i see this and start looking for parts  biggest problem is no skill when it comes to welding etc :(

P.S. i love it  8) as people say it sucks that that fab work has to be covered up  :(
