Re: Red Rattler Revamp

Just a thought, while you have the B-pillar open splice off a line from the earth lead. Drill a hole in the B-pillar and put in another door switch, activated by the back door.

Then both the front and back doors turn the dome light on... just like an EK Premier prototype.

Re: Harv's FED thread

Still spins me out that a grey powered anything needs a parachute   The only class I can run this thing in is Modified. It has a 10.99 second cut-off. I only know of one grey motor that has ever run that fast, and he only did it once (Dennis Paul in a FED, 10.83s). I effectively need to b...

Re: Harv's FED thread

I can walk (sideways) down one side of the trailer, and step over the drawbar to get at the bench. Anywhere else in the shed and I need to parkour. Plan is to rebuild the shed. A little wider, a little longer and tall enough to fit a hoist. FB on the hoist, FED and trailer underneath. Of course, a s...

Re: Harv's FED thread

There is not much room between your ears and the burnout. IMG_0979.jpeg … or the diff and your vitals. IMG_0980.jpeg (note use of OSHA approved safety-socks). Got the wiring done, and instrument panel mocked up in ply (6mm offcuts from gasket shipping… to be replaced in 6mm ally). IMG_0977.jpeg Star...

Re: Harv's FED thread

There’s no doubt this working away from home deal slows things down… took seven months to sort out the brakes. Diff was set up for VN/P/R/S Commodore rear calipers, but they wanted to sit an inch inside the bodywork. After much reverse engineering, and some neat fabrication by the chassis builder, t...

Re: Idiots Guide To Polishing Stainless Trim

Things I learned the hard way: If you are doing a whole cars worth of trim, get a comfy respirator. Those black boogers are not doing your lungs any good. Screw the trim to timber, or a scrap of metal. Helps prevent the grinder throwing it. When (not if) it catches, ensure there is nothing you care ...

Re: Had a look at a ute for sale today…..

Ashes to ashes, rust to dust. What was the seller's mindset like? "They don't make these anymore, I know what its worth"? "It would be worth $60k restored"? or more like: "If you can get it on a trailer without it breaking up and spreading itself over the paddock, you are we...

Re: Nominations for improved cooling head gaskets - fourth round

As promised, I have posted out the gaskets yesterday. You should have either: a) a PM message giving you your Aussie Post tracking number, or b) a PM message asking for your address so I can post them. Gaskets are single wrapped in cellophane, and put in with copies of the NASCO information, a warni...

Should get there no problem - at least once
It'll get there if he leaves the switch at the back set on "8" instead of "6"

Re: 253 info

I seem to recall back in the day SM also did an article on how to make a reliable-ish 400HP out of a 253 as the AMCA boys in speedway and also some circuit racers were racing a division that called for a 253 as a control engine ? https://www.streetmachine.com.au/features/little-league-hotting-the-m...
