Thanks for posting the pic Steve. From memory, the code translated to 'Handsel red and Mephisto red'. Where as the standard type special trim, like the car I have now is 'Chianti red and Mephisto red', I think?

Yep, I would guess that the spring was fitted by a frustrated owner to 'spread' the lens to stop it from falling out when driving.

A good old crochet'd rug (nanna rug) across my lap has worked with good results on the past few cold Sydney mornings.

I think they came in sorts of shapes and sizes, the application depended if it fit to your vehicle or not. They would be pretty easy to make if you had some spare metal rod, a mig welder and a couple of suction caps from the $2 shop, then get 'em chromed. Hey, hang on, maybe there's a market out the...

Can someone please post the contact details for Cauchi's auto parts? I have asked on another Holden forum a couple of years ago and got no response, I then assumed the may have gone out of business. Thanks.

You are quite right Smooth, the people who "judge" the vehicles on the day are the outside vendors who sell anything from espresso coffee out the back of a Kombi to the local SES service. Generally, they would not know one car from the other, so it is a fluke if you actually win anything a...

Great pictures! If the second pic was in sepia, you could well think it was taken back in the sixties! Now... imagine what that Golden Fleece sign would be worth to a garagenalia collector. Oh, and I like the 'Vanilla Ice' hairstyle on the bloke in the white jumper in the 1st pic!

Wow....... but what does the code mean next to 'TOP'?

Is that a 'Holden' plate frame or one from the dealer?

I'm sorry, it's not that I don't like them or like looking at them. Just like 'feral' utes, I can appreciate the effort put in but it's not really my cup of tea. OK, I will shut up now.

Yeah, sometimes I get to look at the NZ Holden club magazine. I am often surprised at the number of quality early Holdens over there.
