Re: Citric Acid gel/paste for rust removal.

Good work Scott, you have great cooking skills there. Is the glad wrap to prevent the mix from drying out early thereby rendering it ineffective?

Re: Ol' Rusty - FB/EK Sedan

Nice work Scott,
Those door hold open springs must get a work out. On my Ute they were gone having broken off about where you welded yours. A replacement set solved the problem. I wonder if the heat from welding it will cause an issue with the spring steel later on? Time will tell.

Re: Engine oil grade(s)

Hey Andrew

I’m pretty much in line with Rob. I’m running a stock grey and stay away from the liquid gold synthetic oils and just use a mineral oil 20-50w Repco brand. I change it every 12 months as a rule which is less than 1000 miles.

Re: Another EK Ute on SA Roads

Cleaned up and soldered in both sides. Can now adjust the headlights (aka high powered candles  ) from spotting possums in the trees to back on the road.

Re: Another EK Ute on SA Roads

Went to adjust the headlights on the Ute but the adjusting screws were rusted and snapped. Made up a fix by turning up some brass threads to tap out to 5/32” UNF screws. I couldn’t find 3/16” so these should do. Cleaned up the headlight bucket, then soldered both sides, ran a round file through the ...

Re: Grey Harmonic Balancers

I replaced my original HB as it was grooved where the seal ran. Used replacement unit that from memory was around the $180 mark. Has three holes tapped in it to attach the puller to (which I don’t have 🙁).
