NASCO/dealer fitting instructions

The FB I recently bought has a number of accessories, most of which appear to be either NASCO or dealer fitted: a) Coolaride sunvisor, b) Warmaride heater, c) scratch plates, d) locking petrol cap, e) Wibroc mudguard mirror, f) engine oil filter (not sure if it is a FRAM or otherwise), g) His Master...

Found: Windscreen washer setup

I had forgotten how little fun it is not having windscreen washers in grimy Sydney traffic :( . I could put a SuperCheap plastic washer unit in, but am hoping to keep the FB a bit more original. Does anyone have an original vacuum or foot operated setup please (prefer vacuum)? Happy if it's not in 1...

From what I understand of the vacuum modulator (and I could be wrong, correct me if I am  ), the aim is to give a vacuum signal from the engine to the transmission. The vacuum signal (amount of "suck") is then used by the transmission to determine when to shift. The "modulator&q...

Quarter vent window locks?

I may be barking up the wrong tree, but will try anyway. Legend has it that the quarter windows on FB/EKs were able to be fitted with (slip on?) locks to prevent them being prised open. I imagine that these were third-party aftermarket rather than NASCO. I have seen plenty of steering column and gea...

Thanks Theo - very much appreciated. :D You just saved me several hours of grief wrestling with brake hoses and hard lines.

Fenderwell headers and brake lines

Have recently had the EK wagon returned from the brake shop, where it got new steel brake lines installed. Can't say I'm impressed with the job at all - crap workmanship from guys who should know better (lines rubbing, poor routing etc). I know I should take it back and demand they redo it, but to b...

FOUND: EK wagon or sedan wanted - NSW rego

I'm about to finish an overseas posting, and will be back in the country around the end of February. 3 years of driving a Toyota Vitz ( ) has made me keen to get back into an EK. The project car (V8 EK wagon) will come out of storage, but will take me quite a while to finish. So I'm hoping to...
