Re: Neil's FB Station Wagon
Those NCOP rules will break your heart. Some engineers are fastidious, others more practicable. YRMV. From wagon, as the vehicle originally weighs more than 1100kg and is proposed to be naturally aspirated, the recommended maximum engine capacity is (1129.4 x 5.0 =) 5647cc. Two engine options were c...

Re: Making your own braided hoses
I don't think so. The only stainless braided hoses with a black nitrile inner that they do is 100 Series. The 480 series is nylon inner, the 200 Series and SF Lite are teflon inner. My stuff is definitely a black inner.

Re: Making your own braided hoses
Orright, I am clearly doing something wrong in making these hoses up. For once, I read the destructions first and I'm am following Speedflow's destructions to a tee. Speedlfow 100 series assembly instructions.png I bought -6, -8 and -10 hose. Started with the -8 stuff. Hose had been cut by Speedflow...

Re: NASCO weathershield
A long time ago I had a weathershield almost exactly like yours, sold to me locally by a bloke who swore it was FB/EK. It was not. I tried for a long time to identify it... measured a lot of early Holden windows at car shows etc but could not find a fit. Can't remember if I sold it or accidently bro...

Yep - more likely to be seen on an old grey (or Pug) motor than a V8. Will touch base with Brian Darby and see if he knows of anyone.

Re: Longshot - Hilborn pump
The fittings arrived to run the parallel pills in order to tame the PG150C-0 pump that I have:
It will work, but looks like something out of Frankenstein's lab... makes my teeth hurt just looking at it. An "00" pump would be a lot neater.

A little more squeeze, as the forged slugs have a little lump. About 9.5:1... then some breathing from the Norman

Re: Timing Light ! Finding the White Mark !
Sounds like you are doing the right things. It is easier to mark the harmonic balancer, but you can still do the same thing with the timing light on the flywheel. It's just the angle is a bit harder on your back. Sounds like you have marked the flywheel, or cleaned it. If you can see the UC mark, an...

Re: Longshot - Hilborn pump
Thanks. Willing to trade more than a few adult cordials for an 00 pump if I can lay hands on one.
I've got a small mountain of Enderle 80A pumps, but they are even bigger still... way too big for anything I will ever do.

Harv

Longshot - Hilborn pump
I'm looking to buy a Hilborn PG150 pump, in the "00" scale (sometimes referred to as a PG150-00 or a #00 pump). Not overly fussed if it is a PG150A, PG150B or PG150C. I have a PG150-0 pump but it is significantly larger than what I need. I can tame it down, but would prefer a 00 pump if I ...

Can't weld, but I know my way around a carby-retta. Glad you got it sorted.
One of these days I'll publish the next version of that Stromberg Guide. I've got all the info to update it to include the WWs, but never seem to get around to finishing it.
