Re: Turbo 253
So if I am unhappy with my setup then I can run a 253 with twin turbo or just one? I considered the 308 and 350 option but because my car was engineered with a 253 and was full of rust and other associated shit that I only dicovered when I ripped it apart I though that the wise option was to stick ...

Re: Turbo 253
Baker12, My understanding is that you can run twin huffers on a 253, and still meet the NSW ligh vehicle mod limits. This document ain't a bad one to read through: http://www.rta.nsw.gov.au/registration/downloads/vsi/vsi_06_-_guidelines_for_light_vehicle_modifications_nov_2007.pdf Terry - cool catc...

Re: Mystery engine mount plates
Can't say I recall seeing them from a factory install.
I'd say your collapsed rubber mount theory Stewart is probably a more likely reason for the manufacture of the plates to help re-align the engine back to it's normal alignment position.

Re: Turbo 253
Yep - as far as I understand it, the NSW "Guidelines" are just that - they can be interpreted many different ways, depending on engineer. Have seen some engineers that stick to them like glue, others that go "well and truly beyond", and others that have passed cars that are pret...

Re: Turbo 253
If the current RTA rules are adhered to, the largest naturally aspirated V8 for an FB/EK based on the sedan weight version is 332 cubic inches and with forced induction it works out to around 260 odd cubes so a 253 blown is within that. Interestingly, an FC Holden according to the rules as they are ...

4th pic down gets my vote, more subtle than the others in my opinion I like that too Stu, seems we are the only ones  . Yep, I like the 4th pic down ( the one under the can of passiona ) as well. Purple roof, then white then slow mix shading to purple again. Which voting thingo is that...

Re: 132 vs 138
6 cubic inches is not a lot of horsepower difference if identical engine spec comparisons are considered. It may make a difference down the quarter on a high perf engine and you are chasing a couple poofteenth of seconds, but these grey motors are no drag strip engines. I haven't got a shop manual in...

Wayne and myself got the engine running smoothly after 25 years :) Once the brakes and clutch and done we can take it for a cruise! Re: Part Number M35636
Not in my master parts cattledog either.
Maybe a superceded number.
Are they grey pistons?
Or are they red motor 138 pistons ?
Just a thought .

Re: Yella Terra Head for Grey
Yep, Yella Terra did modify grey heads in the '70's ( maybe earlier ?? ) as I remember seeing Yella Terra modified head ads in car mags for grey motors that were around in the 70's. From memory they had 3 stages. Red motor valves. +Port relief work + Larger valves ( maybe chev ?? ) with combustion c...

Re: Camira Power Steering Rack to HR Front end
 It must be something that has been done before by someone ,somewhere ,as an engineer I spoke to in Dubbo a couple of years back was waffling on about fitting a Camira Blah Blah Balh Power Steering rack to a HR Front end. I guess he must have passed an early holden with one of these in it to k...

Re: Unusual Monaro in factory white
Ebay would rather take your money than make you laugh so they've removed it, though we did manage to save it before they did. Here it is. http://i300.photobucket.com/albums/nn17/FB_MAD/funnymonaro.gif  You can see it has the factory white goatskin seat and the rare NASCO dual horns fitted. ......
