Re: Clay’s Wedgewood Blue FB Ute

Went for a drive and still some noise I think. I also heard it ping, up a hill at 2000rpm in top at 3/4 throttle. I'll have to investigate the gasket and will certainly look at the rares ones thanks Brett.

Re: Clay’s Wedgewood Blue FB Ute

Thanks for the tip Brett. I do have the correct washer in there now. It was pretty obvious that the smaller one wasn't clamping on the exhaust manifold at all. If it recurs I will chase up the extractor gasket.

Re: Clay’s Wedgewood Blue FB Ute

I couldn't put up with the deafening sound of crickets on here any longer. Ive decided the noise I thought sounded like rockers is a slight exhaust leak between the head face and manifold. There is carbon build-up evident above the manifold on the painted head surface. I will try and retention the s...

Re: Neil's FB Station Wagon

Good on you Neil. I like the guys air nozzle in that you can hold it and steady the mig gun at the same time. But to be fair what he is welding is not a big run down the middle of a flat panel, like you are doing.
