Re: Elle’s 1960 FB 225 mild custom

Best I can achieve driver side +1*10’ caster and -0*10’ camber. I will have to sacrifice some caster to get more camber and try and tilt the crossmember for more caster. Should be able to get another degree or two by doing that.

Re: Elle’s 1960 FB 225 mild custom

I grabbed a pack of 1/8” shims from Repco this arvo that will work in with the 1/16” and 1/32” ones I have. Definitely want a degree of negative camber at least, and more caster if I can.

Re: Elle’s 1960 FB 225 mild custom

On to the front alignment. This is what I’m up against regarding getting enough room to insert more shins at the rear to get more caster and camber. https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/20250709/6fa6c5137a55e0fb730c69c26e30dd28.jpg

Re: Elle’s 1960 FB 225 mild custom

Completed flooding the sills with fisholene. I poured 5 litres in the driver side sill and it leaked out from the top of the inner, as well as the rear chassis rail and no 1 body member. About 4.5 litres came back out, which I poured in the passenger side. Most of that leaked out at the front, at ...

Re: Neil's FB Station Wagon

Getting it done Neil. I had one on the van on the rotis, to gap the doors. Then upside down to put the floor and tunnel in. Was the original, which I since scrapped. It fitted relatively well but still took a couple of hours at least. I hope the new one fits okay.

Thanks Greg. Hard to get a clean surface. Sometimes just have to give it a good fry. Luckily no blow throughs. Lap welds with weld through primer.

Elle’s 1960 FB 225 mild custom

Friday instalment time.

Found a clever way to clean out inside the sills, using my gurney driven drain snake. Just a 1/2” pressure hose with a nozzle that squirts back sling the hose, pushing the head forward to punch through minor obstructions. Due to the rusted cover pieces at the rear end of ...

Re: cruise control

Had them fitted in a few different cars at work. Same unit, different cars. Worked well in land cruisers but in patrols it would slow down going up hills, then when you got to the top they would accelerate way over the set speed. $*#@ dangerous.
