Re: My second ek
Sedan floor is different rear of the axle. http://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/20160122/74c8b4ea7c7932aed118095ec43631f8.jpg floor in the commercials is lower to accomodate the spare. If you don't need it to be original you could fabricate the rails and use the floor and tank from something suitable. Th...

Re: My second ek
My van is pretty good in the rear floor (same as ute). Can send some photos when I get home on the weekend. You may be best to try and find a van as donor as the rear floor is more likely to be intact. Although I hate the thought of cutting up a van or wagon for that matter.

This may sound silly but would one foot lb be about 12 inch lbs? So 100 inch lbs = 8.33333333333333333333333333333333333 ft lbs. round about ish?

Re: Banjo LSD centre
Had a coarse spline 3.08 LSD centre under my EK sedan for years but that was in the EH housing behind a mild 186 and M21 box. Managed to shear the hemisphere bolts and spin the hemispheres taking off hard turning right. Replaced the centre and later broke spider gears being silly. Never an issue wit...

Re: Vintage Collective Markets
My mates EH did that out back of the North Flinders Ranges many years ago. Local pastoralist passing by diagnosed and repaired it on the spot using a bit of acacia twig for pivot pin and the end of a glass fuse for the plug. Got him the 30km home to enable a change over.

Re: New Brake Drums ?
Main difference on the old rims seems to be that some are riveted together and others are welded.

Re: New Brake Drums ?
The EJ EHdrums are flat faced per the picture in my earlier post. Measured a few rims today. All my HR disc are 86mm backspace. Some have the hole described by Craig. Some have the groove just inside the bead also described above. All fit my HR disc front end. All the older style are 90mm. Not much ...

Re: New Brake Drums ?
Cheers Tim I think I've got it. HD HR drum rims seem to be missing from my collection but I assume they are similar to the disc rims only with the flange protrusions. Also worth noting here that the HR non commercial shoes and wheel cylinders fit EJ EH rear backing plates and drums allowing the smal...

Re: New Brake Drums ?
Well buzzed of a few wheels and all the ones with round ended scallops between the nuts have the relieved flanges which I believe to be HR disc rims. I believe there is a difference between EJ-EH/HD-HR non disc and HD-HR disc rims but seems a hell of a coincidence that I have inherited several of th...

Re: New Brake Drums ?
Ok understand that bolting early rim to later drum may or will lead to distortion and failure of the rim centre which is catastrophic to say the least. But would this cause the symptom described by Rosco where the wheel locks up? If so good protection for the hapless brace swinger. I have to admit I...

Re: New Brake Drums ?
I have EJ or EH rear on my EK sedan. Can't remember as its been on there thirty years. Will pop a drum off and see if FB EK fits.
Regarding the wheels I was pretty sure only the HD HR disc rims were different due to the raised parts of the centre fouling the Girling calipers.

Be serious. Anyway they have dogs you know that smell right through plastic bags and things you think will do.
