Re: Longshot - Hilborn pump

I was talking about this last night and one thing that was mentioned is the vintage speedcar boys are more likely to have one under their workbench than the drag racers because of their size ????

Re: Longshot - Hilborn pump

I know a few drag racers over here Harv, and we congregate on a Monday afternoon in one of the aforementioned racers sheds for adult cordials and serious discussion, will ask the question and see if they will put the feelers out over here mate.

Awesome - Harv's bibles should be declared a national treasure

I admire your patience, I would just spit the chewy, have a tantrum and ship it off to somebody to sort out for me ......

Re: Bell housing cover plate

pretty sure they just follow the shape of the gearbox and are a flat plate with a swage or 2 in them ?

I think there is one in EKMart, will post a pic later today mate.

Re: EK Fuel Gauge pegs to the right on ignition.

Before you get too carried away replacing it - try running an earth wire from the sender to ground . Sometimes the only problem with them is the sender isn't correctly earthed. You can hose clamp a wire to it or put one under one of the hold down screws and put the other end to the chassis of the car

Re: Family Affair Ek Ute

The left side arm is quite different from the right side arm - I have a pattern at work so you can make one out of 1.6mm sheet - if you can use a drill , grinder and file you can make one

Re: EK Fuel Gauge pegs to the right on ignition.

Like Harv said , find the wire in the boot - short it to earth. If the gauge then reads empty the problem is in the sender in the tank.

Interesting dash on the eh ute.
Looks to be out of a 59-60 Chev , i have one at home that I am considering fitting in the 2 door - they are a great looking dash but he has modified it and it looks weird in my eyes

Re: Gearbox connecting rod. Bush needed?

I made one out of a bit of flat bar that I used to carry in my work ute , was pretty rough but it did the job and wasn't hard to make. The horn blowing when turning the wheel and the horn bar being out of whack would indicate it didn't go back together the way it came off - hopefully another attempt...
