Re: Red Rattler Revamp

Found the issue - top ball joints are binding on full droop, the LHS bump stop had collapsed - more Rare Spares Chinese shit - and the upper ball joints are running out of articulation. Cleaned up some Holden bump stops and they will be good for another 60 years - the Rares ones lasted 3 or 4 ..... ...

Must be bending the top ball joint over to binding point or something… some of those ball joints are just shit.. n...

Re: Red Rattler Revamp

Got a weird issue with the front end - the front steering is SSSTTTIIIFFF as buggery - thought it might just be the fact that I hadn't greased anything so I greased it up today and still stiff as a honeymooners prick :econfused: Figured I would start disconnecting things and try to pinpoint where th...

Re: The loooonnng term EK 2 door project

A bit more progress on this - most of the frame has been redone and the door frames modified to suit - it’s up to me now to grind down a windscreen so John can make the windscreen aperture and then the roof skin can go on. Check the 2 pics below - you can see the difference to the roofline that is ...

Re: Red Rattler Revamp

Got the calipers back yesterday and fitted them up , kept bleeding up the brakes and the brand spanking new drivers rear pissed fluid out all over the place [emoji2959][emoji2959][emoji2959][emoji2959][emoji2959] We have really screwed ourselves by being sucked into buying this Chinese crap , seems ...

Re: Red Rattler Revamp

Well , some progress has been made , not without some tribulations though of course [emoji849][emoji849][emoji849] Bleed the brakes - easy job right ??? Not so much , after the dramas with the rears , the fronts were binding up and would only release if you gently belted them with a copper mallet - ...

Re: Longshot - Hilborn pump

I was talking about this last night and one thing that was mentioned is the vintage speedcar boys are more likely to have one under their workbench than the drag racers because of their size ????

Re: Longshot - Hilborn pump

I know a few drag racers over here Harv, and we congregate on a Monday afternoon in one of the aforementioned racers sheds for adult cordials and serious discussion, will ask the question and see if they will put the feelers out over here mate.
