Re: Ammo's Ute

Its gunna come down at least anothe inch I reckon.

Its ok though you have the luxury of lowering blocks that can be thinner to adjust the final height.

Re: Burn & Co auction at Molong

Wow, I thought that 327 motor was overpriced but it just goes to show if you or anybody else really wants it you must pay to secure it !!

The sedan looks quite a bargain at that price , actually the ute and Van also.

Sounds like a fun trip.

Re: EK Wagon V6 project for sale

Mr Wagonman, Its a great shame you are not in a position to finish the car, It looks to be quite good overall. The thing about selling a car in this condition is you have to find someone who wants that car and project. Of course that scares a lot of people away just because of the unknown and the ex...

Re: Neil's FB Station Wagon

Good stuff Neil, If I was ever going to do another one of these cars I would cut the lot out, invest in a bead roller and bender and just fabricate new peices for a custon floor. Its a pity here in Australia there is no one willing to replicate the pressings in one section. I've started on what i th...

Re: harvs ek 327 wagon

Hi Harv, As a fellow chev owner I can say that it appears vacuum related, I've had the same type of issue. Changed jets, metering blocks etc etc. The damm thing would just bog and backfire then go then surge. You need to elimanate all sources of Vacuum leak, could be the manifold seal, dizzy caniste...

Re: Project 2.

Good one Brett,

Mine had 3 goes, but it was just small stuff that stopped it, really my fault in some ways.

It feels rewarding to drive a car thats modified and not illegal, go and enjoy !!!!!

Re: FB Standard Wagon

On another note I had my auto electrician point out that the metal tek screws I have fixing all of fuel and brake lines to the chassis with will most likely fail an inspection when it comes registration time. He said they fail tek screws and prefer self tapping screws with a flat washer under them....

The fuel gauge interface looks like it will work but I’ll get the opinion of the auto sparky.

Cheers Rob for the resistance values. Yes I will check how the gauge behaves wit the tests that you suggested.

And yes I also would be be surprised if we have the resistance readings ars about face too, so I’ll need to double check it all.

I might contact the guys I bought the tank off and see if there are options when it comes to buying senders.
With some luck they will have a 0-30 ohm sender.

Thanks again
I went through this as well with the Fraud XB tank. Your sender reading for Mustang is correct and works 75 ohms empty 10 ohms full, so it is back to front to an EK.
The way around it is to change the gauge to a &*#@ one, fidly but can be done to fit into the original Fb Ek housing.
To get the original gauge rewound to suite the new sender to me was filthy expensive, and because I needed more things like oil pressure tacho etc, I ended up with new gauges and my problem was solved that way.

Yeah the lokar is expensive and to the unweary, like myself doesn't have the ability to ratchet. So that means select D and drive letting the tranny do the shifting. Its all show and no go !! I used to have a quick silver shifter back in the day and that was good for fast shifting between gears. Tha...

Ha Ha, Yeah it does have an Allen key or 2 !!!!
