Re: Project 2.

Looks nice Brett, I must admit for ease of tuning and keeping it there you can't beat a holley. If you go webbers it can be painfull to keep the tune, although you wont see the full potential of the 6 without them. Looking at the picture it floods me with memories, and yes i ended up with the webber...

Re: Chev EK

No oversized bushes that i can find, would have been simpler ! Anyway it worked out, i couldnt get the bush in as far as i liked but for now it will be ok. The Torana front is good and a nice ride but the issue is the alignment. There is no room to use spacers on the top arms unless you cut holes in...

Re: Chev EK

Re: Neil's FB Station Wagon

If over 1000kgs in standard trim then, Original mass (kg) x 3.00 = max. capacity in cc. But an engineer can overide it if they have the balls. Greg Yeah , FB sedan is 1120kg, x 3 = 3360cc so my supercharged 202 JJJUUUUUSSSSTTTTTT scrapes in - dunno how you would go with a 3800cc ???? BAT53 was build...

In the Shed wrote: Mon Apr 29, 2024 10:34 pm Interesting set up for the coolant flow, has three connections to the top of the motor. Also see the oil filler cap is blocked off and piped to a separate tank.
Its a vented oil catch can, the idea is to catch any blowby oil instead of dumping on the track out of the breather.

Re: Angry grey

Yes that would be Mr Barrow, When i starting in group N racing he was one of the guys i used to compete with, his father raced it for many years before that and the family was super friendly and we had lots of fun times. The car for what it is, is very quick and Phil drives the wheels off it. It was...

Re: Neil's FB Station Wagon

Yeah, great work Neil. The sills are strange, i had 2 NOS ones and they were slightly different to each other. The theory was the people assembling the bodies would use the best fitting parts for each vehicle and the stockpile at the end is now what we have as NOS. The bodies are all over the shop f...

Re: Ammo's Ute

Nice one Roger, A warm day and a charcoal mask, the paint will cure inside your lungs and never be expelled, be carefull. Prime let dry then smooth with a scuff pad, apply your colour till it flashes off then apply the clear. This is what i have been taught to do. Look forward to the results. Regard...

Re: Harv's FED thread

Not sure if this helps Harv, My race car (lately garage art ) has a pull cable to the ouside of the vehicle to stop the ignition by officials and is mandated by cams. It is the smplest way i could find to do it and it works ok. See photos. It does however need to be reset manually. IMG_2627.JPG IMG_...

Re: Project 2.

Hi Brett,

As you have said, the combination would make for satisfying driving. You can let loose on the gearbox if you have the courage, they are pretty tough.

Job well done.
