Re: Neil's FB Station Wagon
Great work Neil.
I was thinking the same in relation to weight, only because i had a mate bagging my 9 inch saying it was too heavy and i should have used a borg warner instead.
Im sure the ride with that cradle will be superior to the leaf springs.

Great work Taz,
Fabricating everything like this takes years, it will be well worth it once you are done.

Re: Someone has way too much time on their hands ......
Its amazing what dedication or is that obsession can create !! My love of the RB30 ended when i had a very large crash in a VL commodore, lucky to be alive really. That thing screamed to a point of just being out of control, which i was, put me in debt for a few years longer than i hoped. It would b...

Yep, it works, seen it done.
My prefered method is vaseline in the oil pump gears, with the spark plugs out crank it over till you can see some pressure.

Re: Dr Blacky attempts to perform an addagruntome
The grey engines that myself and a few mates would ring the necks out of always had issues with the front main bearings. The last fling and break up I had with a grey was the front main moving house from the rest of the crank, it is a weak point and suffers from flex. That could explain the marks on...

Re: Clay’s Wedgewood Blue FB Ute
Harv Said, Back to the shop when I get a chance, check, mebbe new bearings. This damn thing needs wingnuts or velcro on it given how many times it is being made and unmade. Its quite an artform building motors and can be very time consuming. Once you start measuring adjusting cleaning it can take 2 ...

I agree with Mick, its usually flex that causes cracking windscreens.
I like the job you guys have done it is certainly different.

Re: Clay’s Wedgewood Blue FB Ute
When building chev engines I always hit the crank back and forth with a block of wood and hammer to true up the thrust bearing. I also use 1200 grit on a flat surface and rub the bearing thrust face flat if it requires it. You could also try different bearings as the the tolerances may vary in produ...

Re: Neils Frankenstein Ute
Hi Neil, There are lots of videos on pinion angle but they tend to get confusing. A lot of emphasis goes into getting the final angle in relation to the tailshaft. Ultamately this is a nice wish list but most car bodies and axle configurations dont allow for the ultimate final drive angles. Also wit...

Re: Chev EK
Done a good days work yesterday and into the night, I had to pull most of the interior out to get at all the wiring. IMG_2377.JPG IMG_2376.JPG Decided to put the fuel pump relay under the back seat and run the wiring through the rear rail and to the battery direct. I have also run the main computer ...
