I found that the bearings couldn't be pushed in from the side but did slide down from the top But the smaller bearings were so tight that they wouldn't turn, took me ages to get them out again as they were jammed in tight. the larger bearing seemed to turn OK so i left it in Contacted the seller who...

Gearbox rebuild

Just put a rebuild kit in a standard grey gearbox Problem is I can't fit in all the roller bearings that came in the kit, out of the 3 sets of roller bearings in the gearbox i have one roller bearing that wont fit in each so I have 3 left over (2 small & 1 large) with the bearings in place there...

while changing the head today I thought I would try out my carby collection I had these twin HS6 SU's for a while now and always wanted to fit them but the fuel bowl hits the #6 extractor pipe and lifts the whole setup by about 1/2 inch. visited the Holden wreckers and looked at 10 sets of extractor...

got the head back today had 12tho taken off, bolted it all back up and it sound mighty.
haven't driven yet as I've now twinged my back and want to rest

Yeah not the oil filter, its still on at the moment as its proving to be a bit stubborn coming off
Might have to hammer a screwdriver through it to get it to turn. :vecctor:

I have no history on the modifications to this vehicle so I only know from google image searches and part numbers I can find to what's been done to it.

It's got the standard steering column with a universal joint welded to a shaft that goes through the firewall, then another universal joint to the steering on the front end. Driving along as the camber changes on the road I hardly have to make any steering corrections it just steers straight ahead r...

Clutch plate can only go on one way, the springs are biased to one side so if its on the wrong way you cant bolt up the pressure plate.
