Re: cool

FX or 50-2106 utes have the external handle.
FJ utes don't have it. They swapped to the internal handle when the FJs came out in 1953.

Upside-down chassis number.....I assume that you mean that you read it by looking over the drivers side guard ?
This is how they did them at the
(S) Sydney plant.

The blocks on my one may have had the allen keys. A long time ago and I don't remember.
I do remember that I had to give Waggot my Main bearing caps and they machined the tops of the caps to accept the blocks.
Cheers,
Baz.

The main bearing blocks were a common mod many years ago. Don't know if people still do it ? I had the same blocks on a grey in the mid 70s that was done in Sydney by Waggott Engineering. Can't remember if they had those allen key bolts in them though ? Impossible to tell what cam it is from photos ...

Thanks for the reply Jay. If you can easily get the number that would be great. I'm in no hurry so don't go out of your way for it. As I pointed out I only saw it late at night under moonlight. Could see that it was a recent paint job. Looked like it had a few buff marks so i'm guessing acrylic? Col...
