985 is Floral Green and Madison Grey trim

It has to do with the cars around it (in number terms) having a known selling date (from the owners manual or other documents) or having date coded items on them, also early FB's with nitro paint are all built in early 1960.

The more cars are recorded the better the dating gets.

Well finally got around to finding the chassis No and after some 10 mins of soaking with acetone and scrubbing with a wire brush and walah. Speaking of No.1's, do we know which No.1 car ( be it Sydney, Melbourne, Adelaide, Brisbane), was actually the first one built.........or were they all built on the same day? Melbourne was the first, the first 20 chassis no. were reserved for pre production cars all the other factories started 1001.
