Re: Bonnet bird measurements
Thanks to @ekspcl and @blacky for variously sharing the measurements and the scanned instructions. One thing that I find with these cars is the need to frequently deal with bonkers-sounding dimensions like "12 and 5/32" and "10 and 33/64" as opposed to clean dimensions like 309 m...

Maximum permissible thickness of sound-proofing material in ceiling
Hi, Can someone please advise the maximum permissible thickness of insulating material (e.g. sound dampening material) that can be located between the roof and the ceiling liner? For maximum sound control, I am seeking to adhere to the underside of the roof a material having the following characteri...

Re: In tank fuel pump
I seem to have missed an important point - Why was there be a need to install an electric pump into the petrol tank?

Re: EJ/EH wiper/washer switch - suitable or not?
They will work, up to at least HR, so yes. I've used one with the centre button for squirter in the past by adapting to the FB EK knob. Sent from my SM-G781B using Tapatalk Thanks Errol62. By "adapting to the FB EK knob" was there something that needed to be done to make the switch adapt ...

EJ/EH wiper/washer switch - suitable or not?
Hi, Can someone please advise... Can an EH/EJ wiper/washer switch be successfully fitted to the EK/FB Holden without modifications of any kind? This would be used to control the existing EK wiper motor and a generic after-market electric washer unit? Questions that come to mind include: 1. Will the ...

Re: Designing Cars With AI - Fun for a rainy day
Thank you for sharing this very interesting piece about your AI experiment. I wonder whether the AI could be pushed further, for instance to recommend technical upgrades to meet stated specifications. For instance: " Redesign the Holden EK, including its chassis, to include the following engine...

Re: Nominations for improved cooling head gaskets - fourth round
Hi Harv, It seems that people know something about this gasket that I don't. Can you please tell me how this head gasket differs from the generic variety? I probably don't need one right now, but I am gradually collecting parts in preparation for a possible future overhaul.

Cleaning filthy plastic bottles (e.g. washer bottle)
Here's a tip for washing out an extremely filthy windscreen washer bottle - Half-fill with coarse rock salt and enough water to make a slurry. Close the holes then shake the contained in various directions. Discard the slurry, which will now be dark colored. Rinse well with water. Optionally wash wi...

Re: Horn contacts
Another thing - if there are parts of the horn mechanism that can be 3D printed, then I'd be happy to give that a try. All that I would probably need is for someone to either lend to me a sample of the part to be printed (even if it's cracked or worn), or for someone to supply me information about t...
