Re: Gearbox connecting rod. Bush needed?

Thanks, Guys. For the steering wheel misalignment, I think I will make a tool for taking it off, but might try loosening the nut and tapping first to see how that go's. Re the horn issue I will try a re-assemble and see how we go. 'Thank you for all the advice/suggestions. (When changing to 3 on the...

Re: Gearbox connecting rod. Bush needed?

Success!!! (sort of). Worked on changing over the "3 on the floor" back to the original "3 on the tree" over the weekend and by some miracle it appears to have worked first time around. (No one more surprised than me). Works in the garage anyway. Goes forward and reverse. Next st...

Re: Gearbox connecting rod. Bush needed?

Thanks everyone.
I will give the home made bush option a try and if it fails, off to Rares I go.

Stephen, if it is not too much of a hassle, a pic would be great.

Re: Gearbox connecting rod. Bush needed?

Thanks, Errol62.
Might give that a try first.
I have just seen that Rare Spares has Gearbox lever bushes in a set of 2 off for $20.00 to suit EK. I wonder if they may also work.
Rare Spares do not miss you.................$20 for 2 x nylon bushes #%^*^%$#!@#$

Gearbox connecting rod. Bush needed?

Hi, Guys hoping for some help. I am trying to change the floor shift back to 3 on the tree and the connecting rod is only around 6-8mm dia and the hole in the gearbox bracket is around 20mm. Is there some kind of bush that I need to buy to end up with a tight fit? I have ordered a new gearbox bracke...

Re: Trim styles FB-EK

Thanks, guys. Fingers crossed the bench seat will turn out nearly as good. But I do not think they will be able to save the vinyl this time around. Work on the ute has been slow and steady as I am struggling to free up time to work in the shed. (The boss is giving me too many other "projects&qu...

Re: Trim styles FB-EK

Hi, I picked up the door cards from Lee Brothers in Brisbane earlier this week. They were able to re-use the original vinyl. They replaced the cardboard backing. replaced the wadding. Did a couple of vinyl weld repairs and tried to colour match to the original. New clips. Did a deep clean which remo...

Re: Radio Hidden - How to

Thanks, everyone. Great ideas.
Yes Greg, that's the setup I remember. (It takes me a bit longer these days to retrieve some memory's from the rear filing cabinet at the back of my brain). I am liking the dual cone setup!!! (Thanks for replying. The photos are great).

Radio Hidden - How to

Hi, I am hoping somebody has already done this. I have an old radio already fitted into the dash. Does not work very well but I want to leave it in the hole in the dash where it is. I am looking to upgrade the 1 x speaker in the dash with a better one and install some type of "hidden" wire...
